Over all I would say I am happy with this item so far. It plugged directly into my Maristar 150W HQI (MH) fixture hanging over my Saltwater Reef Tank. This is a replacement for and old magnetic Blue Wave 3 transformer that used to run the light. It plugged right in to the existing cable with no modification needed.

Would of liked to give this 4 stars BUT NOTE: This unit runs VERY HOT as is. By hot, I mean after about 3-4 hours of run time you are not able to touch the casing for very long (5-10 sec becomes painful). Once I noticed this I decided to put a large coaxial fan (80mm) behind it while also using 2 inch screws as "legs" to lift the unit giving it airflow both above and below. Now when my HQI lights come on (auto timer) the cooling fan also turns on. This TOTALLY eliminates the "HOT" issue and the case runs much cooler.

Personally I would not run this unit WITHOUT cooling fans. Just my opinion. :)

Time will tell how long this unit will last. It appears to be well built and with the fan cooling it I am hoping to get many years out of it.
