Tanaka TCG22EABSLP 21.1cc 2-Stroke Gas Powered Curved Shaft Grass Trimmer (CARB Compliant) Review

I purchased this trimmer to replace a 15+ year old Tanaka that was starting to get "long in the tooth". This is an EXCELLENT MACHINE! The trimmer is used in my business at least 4 days a week over 16 properties. I have yet to use the choke to start this machine! Hit the primmer bulb a few times and it fires right up. I cannot review the bump head that comes with it. I put a Echo Rapid Loader Head on before I used it for the first time. I am not a fan of bump heads. The Rapid loader is,over the course of the day, just as fast to reload numerous times as a bump head is to load once. This also allows me to use .095 heavy duty line on the trimmer. A hint to save a lot of money if you use a trimmer as much as I do is to buy a bulk roll of trim line. Never pay the stupid price that is charged for the pre-cut line inserts. I have two marks on my work bench, 8 inches apart, measure and cut for a few minutes and I have enough line inserts to get me through the week. Now for the only things I have noticed about the trimmer. It will get very warm to the touch if run for 15+ minutes straight. The back of your arm will notice the heat. Not a major problem but something to be aware of. Seems to go through more fuel than the old model it replaced? All in all I am very glad I stayed with Tanaka. This trimmer has already paid me back as a very solid, easy to start, well balanced, and easy to maintain machine.
