Bliss Hammocks BH-804G Foldable Hammock and Stand Review
Folds up easily and reassembles in kind. The bars are a kind of light beige-y grey that wasn't quite clear from the photos. Takes up relatively little space in my closet, although it comes up to my chest when folded which I wasn't expecting (I thought it would get smaller, but I'm not sure why.)
I got this for sleeping on, but didn't anticipate that because air can flow beneath the hammock, I can't stay warm on it. (I live in Montana and keep my apartment around 60 degrees to save energy; usually being cold isn't a problem for me.) Still, that should be great in the summer.
Height is about perfect to dangle my legs off the side while I type, when I need to; otherwise it's a good height to lounge around in. I wouldn't let kids clamber around on it, but that's just me. (All of the metal ends are covered with plastic knobs which is pretty safe, but it could tip over if a couple of children were wrestling on or around it.)
The fabric seems very durable but it's gotten a bit deformed in the middle where I rest on it, although I'm only 160 lbs give or take. I'm pretty sure that's normal adjustment for the fabric and won't reach a noticeable point. It's not soft or very smooth, but neither is it uncomfortably rough.
Really, my biggest issue with this hammock is that it wiggles slightly when I shift myself around. I'm not talking the usual hammock side-to-side motion, either - it's a disarming kind of a shudder that is rooted in how to crosspieces are attached to the larger struts. This makes the whole hammock feel less sturdy to me, despite how well made it seems otherwise.
(I'm thinking of stuffing some Sugru in where the wiggle is happening to dampen the motion, but I don't want to prevent it from folding. Perhaps a couple of washers cut through in one place and stacked along the metal between the attachment point and the plastic would do it, but I haven't tried anything yet.)
