Merit 0.5 G insecticide attacks the nervous system in insects and prevents normal transmission of nerve impulses. This mode of action results in disruption of normal behavior; treated insects stop feeding, do not reproduce and eventually die. Merit 0.5 G insecticide is most effective when applied prior to, or just after, egg lay. In most cases, adult emergence occurs in early summer, often after significant rainfall or irrigation, followed by mating and egg laying. This usually continues for four to six weeks. Under normal circumstances, Merit 0.5 G insecticide will provide residual white grub control for four months or longer in turf. Merit 0.5 G insecticide can be used for the control of soil inhabiting pest of turfgrass, such as Northern & Southern masked chafers, Cyclocephala borealis, C. immaculata, and or C. lurida; Asiatic garden beetle, Maladera castanea; European chafer, Rhixotroqus majalis; Green June beetle, Cotinis nitida; May or June Beetles, Phyllophaga spp.; Japanese beetle, Popillia japonica; Oriental beetle, Anomala orientalis; Billbugs, Spherophorus spp,; Annual Bluegrass weevil, Hyperodes spp,;Black turfgrass ataenius, Ataenius spretulus; Aphodius spp.; European Crane Fly Tipula paludosa; and Mole Crickets, Scapteriscus spp. Merit 0.5 G insecticide can also be used fot the suppression of cut warms and chinchbugs in turfgrass areas. Merit 0.5 G Insecticide can be used as directed on turfgrass in sites such as home lawns, business and office complexes, shopping complexes, multi- family residential complexes, golf courses, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields. Merit Insecticide cannot be used on commercial sod farms.

This is POSITIVE working solution for insect control on Lawns. If you have grubs this will kill them, Mole crickets, DEAD. Good thing is that it doesn't seem to bother "friendly" creatures like earthworms.
