I recently installed a copper funnel Japanese rain chain for use near my front door.Copper Funnel Rain Chain. I had never even heard of these things until a couple of years ago when I was trying to get some information about rain gutters off the internet. I saw quite a few links to Japanese rain chains and not knowing what they were I clicked on some of the links. I was really impressed with the idea and the various designs of them. Nobody I talked to had even heard of them so I wouldnt be suprised if I were the only one in the tri-county area that even has one. Well I might be exagerating about the tri-county area but I have yet to see one for sale at a "brick and morter" store. Anyway I went ahead and purchased my rain gutters and installed them myself and used the rain chain for the downspout on my front door overhang. For some reason I thought they would be bigger, maybe the size of coffee cans but they arne't. The top of the funnel measures three and one quarter inches across. I ended up replacing the section of gutter that I have the rain chain on because the downspout fitting was kind of cheesy looking so I got a new section and cut it to length (6 feet) and put the end caps on it. Instead of using a downspout fitting I just drilled a 1 1/4 inch hole in it. I had to modify the copper wire hanger piece but thats easy enough to do. All you need is a pliers. The rain chain was longer than I needed so I just removed some of the cups to get the length I needed. It started raining an hour after I installed it so I got to see it in action and it works great. As a matter of fact it's raining right now so I took a picture and will post it later. As for ordering it from Amazon.com I am once again a happy camper or customer as the case may be. They have never let me down.

We needed a replacement screen quickly for a one-year old Roman Post Gazebo prior to the 4th of July holiday. This served the purpose for half the day. The first time the dog missed the opening the screen tore in a nano-second. The screen was much flimsier than the original and was not nicely weighted at the bottom so it was extremely difficult to zip and unzip for entry. In fact it was so dismal we ended up replacing the entire gazebo just to get a sturdy product all around. Home Depot now carries replacement screens for the gazebo in the store that match the quality of the original.

I bought this ladder for my Intex 12x36 pool and I do not like it.

The BY-PASS part of the ladder is to keep kids from getting stuck under the water if they swim BEHIND the ladder in the pool. Wit the soft sided pool the item is extremely difficult to install and even worse to remove. I do not leave my ladder in the pool when I am not in it and the BY-PASS has to be removed to get the ladder out of the pool.

When I bought the ladder I thought the BY-PASS was to lock onto the ladder on the outside of the pool to keep little ones from being able to climb into the pool when no one was around. I was disappointed that I misunderstood what it was all about.

However, I did buy the ladder WITH the by-pass for a lower price than the ladder without it so I am not out any money for the product.

As for the ladder itself, I am somewhat disappointed it that it is SO NARROW. However, I am over-weight so that may just be MY problem.

SO, if you can get the ladder cheaper without the BY-PASS, do that.

The loops on the lid through which to secure utensils are very rigid. It was difficult, in one case not possible, to insert the handle to secure the item. Perhaps a good quality cloth covered elastic would be preferable to sewn fabric with no give. I even cut my finger trying to force knife handle through loop. Otherwise, nicely made and lovely plates, glasses, etc. I expect to get years of enjoyment from it.

I have fond memories of growing alfalfa sprouts as a kid. I had no idea that you even could sprout all these until recently. I eat pretty healthy -lots of organic and natural foods. A friend showed me this kit and I bought it right away! I've already sprouted the bean salad mix, alfalfa and peas. So far I love it. It is fun and easy to grow them and the best part is eating them! I think the alfalfa tastes better than store bought by far! It is organic and no worries of something "icky" being on them like in the store. I also got this kit quickly and well packed.
