tried for years to control microstegium vimineum. nothing i tried touched it. pre emergents just made things worse by eliminating other plants and allowing more room for "the enemy" to invade. acclaim must be aprayed, so it's a bit messy & smelly, but i wear a carbon vapor mask for safety. a little bit goes a long way tho, so its really not all that expensive. i did had to dilute it to get the concentration low enough for my ortho hose end sprayer. all that being said, it nails the stuff. wait for it to emerge then spray in late spring/early summer.
