Although the description refers to this as a windscreen, it is made of the same material as shade cloth. It actually both catches the wind and provides shade. I was already familiar with shade cloth, so I knew it would not provide complete privacy.

The statement of 95% privacy is wrong, I'd say privacy wise it's more like 50%. You can see through the cloth, especially on bright, sunny days.

It provides enough of a screen to suit my needs. I have shrubs and plants along the fence line, but not enough to provide the privacy from the neighbors I would like and in winter it's completely bare. Once everything leafs out in the spring this cloth will serve as a nice filler behind my greenery and the combination will provide a decent amount of privacy.

Until everything leafs out, I can still see my neighbors walking around on the other side, but we're not directly face to face anymore. If you want more privacy you can double it up and it will provide close to the 95% stated. With regard to the wind, it really does catch the wind. If your posts aren't real secure they will start rocking loose. This material acts just like a sail. Pull it as tight as you can or it will be flapping around.

It's a nice material, well made and durable, but it lacks the promised 95% privacy. If you want to create a buffer zone or add more cover behind shrubs and flowers this is a great product. If you want complete privacy, this product is not for you.

Another benefit, it's easy to put up and take down. No heavy, wooden sections to deal with and if I'm ever tired of it i can toss it in a garbage bag. I would love to have a real privacy fence, but right now I just can't afford it, so this has provide a workable solution.
