Coffee Table X60, Unfinished Review

We live in a three level townhome which was completely unfurnished when we moved in. Over the years as money allowed we've slowly been trying to fill it with likable furniture. Our lower level den/basement is finished and livable but it's an area we tended to spend the least amount time in until recently. One of the last pieces of furniture we were missing for the den was a coffee table for in front of the couch. We decided on the Coffee Table X60, Unfinished. Here are my thoughts;

+ Very affordable (currently $75.58 as I write this) considering the original list price of $299.99.

+ Large, sturdy, stable and solid pine wood construction.

+ Simple and quick method of assembly. Total assembly time with 2 people was approximately 15 minutes.

+ Clean and natural design/look.

+ Table arrives mostly assembled.

+ Made in the U.S.A.

Cons

- May be too heavy (roughly 65 lbs) for some, primarily moving it unassembled in the box. I recommend this as a two person job if at all possible.

- Assembly may prove challenging for one person, mainly threading the metal pin through the legs.

- Many of the drilled holes in the legs through which the metal bolt threads through aren't cleanly and empty. Plenty of splinters and rough edges remain making it troublesome getting the support rod through.

- Metal rods and caps may rust if the table is used outside and not fully treated.

The Coffee Table X60, Unfinished is basic but extremely solid and well put together table. It looks perfect in between our couch and entertainment center. Even the dog likes to leave his toys on it! While it's not the most elegant looking piece of furniture you'll probably own it does the job it's supposed to. Much like other reviewers we did struggle a bit threading the metal rods through the final pre-drilled holes but it didn't take us long to figure out the best way to go about it. Definitely don't try to line all the legs up at once and do it. Thread them one at a time and use a rubber mallet if you have one handy. Feel for the rod to pass through just enough to not obstruct before lining up the next leg. This technique made the process much easier for us. The first thing I did after we assembled the table was test its stability and sturdiness. Moving it back and forth I found the other rods and camps slightly loose so I tightened them which greatly helped improve the balance of the table. Then I laid down on it with my full weight of 180 lbs. I'm glad to report the table held firmly and made no indications of stress or strain. After my incredibly scientific testing we decided to kick our feet up on it and watch a movie. Mission accomplished. If you're looking for an affordable and sturdy coffee table then the Coffee Table X60, Unfinished is a good choice. I wouldn't say it's the most attractive table on the market but a nice coat of paint and finish can definitely change that.
