The Oxford Garden 9' market umbrella outshades all others. The attention to detail is incredible. All materials...the poly-canvas, the shorea wood, and the real brass fittings are top quality. The umbrella is designed with 8 ribs which provides more strength. You won't have to worry about it breaking on a windy day. The use of a two pulley system makes it so easy to raise and lower the umbrella. I poured over similar umbrellas on auctions sites that were a third of the price, but keptcoming back to the Oxford Garden. I even contacted the manufacturer before my purchase. They were right on target with the description of the quality of their product. I live in a resort area. As a final test before my purchase, I visited a local resort. They had two similar market umbrellas around the pool which were purchased at a local discount retailer for a third of the price. After only one season, both had broken ribs that were rigged with aluminum tubing. The wood was cracking and the finish was all but gone. The sectioned pole was loose and wobbly.
