I had to write this review because of how impressed I am with this particular filter. Having maintained my pool myself for more than 5 years, I've gone through 5 replacement filters in that time. Even with meticulous cleaning every month or so, they only last me about a year if I'm lucky.

Not because they physically break (although I did have a genuine Hayward filter lose its banding) but because the pleats get permanently clogged to the point that flow is restricted preventing effective operation. Not so with this Pleatco PA120-M!

I put it into service over 9 months ago and I can't believe how well it's holding up and continuing to deliver great flow rates even when it's really bogged down with debris. I just cleaned it today and there's no sign of it breaking down- and it was filthy!

I have no experience with the standard PA120 so I can't say for certain that the stock unit would do as well, but this blue PA120-M IS A WINNER!
