Plant Nanny 8105 Pale-Colored Glass Watering Globe (Pack of 3) Review

I was torn between the colorful 'aqua globes' as seen on TV and these. These were more expensive but obviously bigger. I opted for these and am so glad I did. Right after I received these, a friend gave me the aqua globes as a gift.
I like these much better for several reasons.... They hold more water, the stem stays in the dirt so you are not constantly making new holes as well as not plugging up the hole with dirt as you push it down, it is easy to see when more water is needed and it is much easier to fill just the globe (which has a much bigger hole.) The stem supports the globe so it stays straight and does not lean over like the taller aqua globes.
While the water does not seem to last as long as they say it will, my plants are thriving and have never looked better.
These are not as pretty as the aqua globes, but seem to disappear rather than stand out in my plants.... which I like.
Give 'em a try.... they are worth the extra money.

Pentair 355300 Black Strainer Pot Replacement Specialty and Swimming Pool Inground Pump Review

I live in the South of France and have a pool that was installed by a previous owner some 18 years ago. Last season my strainer pot developed a crack and, despite my efforts to patch it up, regretably it continued to leak considerably.

My attempts to find a replacement part were met with the usual Gallic shrug, we do not have it and we can't get it etc. I must explain to American readers the concept of `Service' as we know it is not something understood or practiced in France.

A lot of research on the web led to me discovering a possible part number and a hyperlink that took me to Amazon. Joy of joy there was a strainer pot that looked to be the part I needed. Seeing how old my system is that is quite something.

I ordered the part on July 6 and received the parcel on July 10.

I opened the box with some trepidation and was delighted to find it was what I wanted. The fixing centres & the thread forms were correct. Wonderful. An hours work and the replacement was fitted.
